A recurring event since 2018, Opera by the Pint, in collaboration with Little Brown Jug Brewing Company, provided a casual and inviting atmosphere for opera lovers and newcomers alike. This series allowed emerging and established artists to perform their favourite solos and ensembles unrehearsed, offering audiences a unique and informal opera experience. With free admission, the event encouraged donations to support the artists, blending opera with the conviviality of a night out.
Opera Fright Night
Flipside Opera joined forces with The Little Opera Company to present “Opera Fright Night,” featuring performances of Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Medium” and Henry Mollicone’s “The Face on the Barroom Floor.” This event showcased a talented cast in a thrilling evening of opera, demonstrating Flipside’s commitment to collaborative and innovative programming.

Timed to coincide with the Association for Opera in Canada’s national Opera Summit, Operatifs brought together Flipside Opera & Art Song Collective and The Little Opera Company for a light-hearted evening of short operas and arias. Hosted by Ms. Lara Rae and Flipside’s own Judith Oatway, this event featured some of Winnipeg’s finest emerging artists, offering attendees a unique and entertaining opera experience.
