Winter Words

We are embracing “Winterpeg” in this cozy afternoon of snacks, songs, and sunset over the Assiniboine. Join soprano Judith Oatway, cellist Leanne Zacharias, pianist Lisa Rumpel, and local chamber choir legends Proximus 5 in a concert of music exploring the winter season in all its moods – from brutal winds and desolate landscapes, to warm embraces and sparkling sunlight on snow.

​This eclectic program will feature everything from Nordic hymns and Swedish pop to classical winter songs and Canadian folk, with music by Argento, Bonds, Britten, Gjeillo, Lightfoot, Powell, Previn, Price, Reimer, Sibelius, Strauss, and more. We’ve brought together 8 exceptional musicians to craft this one-of-a-kind, magical afternoon of winter cozies while you watch the setting sun sparkle on the snowy Assiniboine River.
